Developing the Art of Mediumship

Second Sight jpgIntroduction

Throughout time those known to possess the gift of Second Sight have been held in awe - even feared, yet according to Edmund Harold this is a talent we may all activate and express, for it is a quality of the Soul and as such, ours by Divine right. Each and every one of us has seven senses, the Sixth Sense corresponding to our Intuitive ability and our Seventh Sense enables us to 'See' and communicate with the non-physical dimensions.

There are many pitfalls along the way and these Edmund endevours to illustrate, whilst setting out a safe manner in which all who desire to expand their awareness beyond this three dimensional Plane of Matter, may establish links with greater minds upon ever Higher Planes of Consciousness, gaining thereby a greater insight into their purpose in life.

The majority of higher communications are received in symbolic form and in order to be understood, must first be translated. The would-be 'Seer' must therefore develop a clear understanding of symbolism and Edmund Harold devotes a large part of this work to this all-important subject.

Preface

On looking back over my life, I now realise that I could not have taken any other path through life than the one I have followed for the past thirty years. Despite this, the role of the seer was always unwelcome, and the thought of becoming a trance channel I cared for even less. My early rejection of these tasks was largely due to ignorance of my personal destiny, and a definite fear of the unknown. Many people are quite astonished by this statement, given the measure of assistance I have received since I was quite a small boy, but I must state that none of that activity took place with my conscious permission.

A highly sensitive child, constantly experiencing out of body experiences which I could not control and which no-one could explain, I responded fearfully. There were many times as a child, when I felt like the Michelin Man, with parts of my body greatly enlarged, yet the remainder stayed quite normal. As all of this took place in the dark, as I sought to sleep, I began to fear the night. It was not until many years later, as I consciously began to develop my trance potential, that I found the answer. As I began to emerge from my physical form, this sensation of growing larger and larger was repeated.

The fears of my childhood were then laid to rest.

At the ripe old age of twenty-four, I finally discovered just what my life's purpose was. This gave me tremendous impetus and helped me, in a measure, to accept my spiritual talents. However, I had deliberately blocked these when I reached puberty. In common with everyone else, I must slowly and laboriously reactivate my clairvoyant ability.

To this end, my Spirit Mentor (or teacher) Wen Shu, who had inspired me throughout childhood, suggested one day that I book a holiday in a remote area of Cornwall, in the West of England, and be prepared to meditate daily. I happily agreed with the idea of the holiday although I had definite ideas about meditation. Once there however, the Brothers of the Light - a group of spirit teachers who, together with Wen Shu, had for some years sought to widen my spiritual horizon-determinedly began to instruct me in the art of seership, and in particular, the meaning of symbols.

They showed me the image of a cockerell, which I gazed at uncomprehendingly. Patiently, Wen Shu asked, "Well, my son, what do you see?" Shrugging my shoulders I responded "A cockerell!" "And what is its meaning?" he probed. "I haven't a clue." I replied, quite bored by this experience, my eyes fixed on the sun streaming in through the windows and the long golden beach below.

'Then pay attention and endeavour to translate the symbol my son," he persis

"Then translate the symbol for me. What would this imply if it were given to you on behalf of another person?" Realising that I would get no peace unless I co-operated I pondered on the symbol. "I suppose it means that this person must go out into the world and wake people up I said eventually. "Awaken them to what my son? Think carefully..." This threw me into confusion, for I had expected him to provide the answer. "Well, a cockerell awakens people to a new day so... I suppose it means to awaken people to a new age?" I said hopefully. "Correct my son" he replied beaming at me in his loving way.

Thinking that the lesson was over for the day I rose only to be told that I must remain indoors and continue. "Oh, but I cannot be bothered, I wish to go out and along the beach…" the reply to this was the image of a donkey. So, very reluctantly, I continued throughout that week the task of reactivating my seership potential. In the process I somehow tapped into my subconsious memory, bringing to light all manner of knowledge relating to the meaning of symbols.

In this manner I reluctantly became a channel. But I admit I was not always constant for on several occasions and for different reasons I abandoned the role, fulfilling my destiny in other ways. Always extremely patient, the Brothers permitted me to resolve my inner conflicts alone and unaided and finally, I chose to accept the mantle of the seer. It was some years before I received some feedback on just how the inspiration I had shared with others had changed their lives, enabling some among them, to develop their own skills and to go out and serve mankind.

The information which I share in these pages hasbeen tried and tested over many years, and I offer it in the hope that those who study will put it to good use. Those who desire to become symbolic 'Messengers of the Gods' once more, must always endeavour to stretch themselves daily. And above all, instruct those who are drawn to them in their hour of need, on just what the purpose of their life is.!!
